PERRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Take a look at these little birdies. Their picture was
snapped yesterday at Lake Metroparks’ Lake Erie Bluffs.
While you may not think it is unusual to see birds at one of Metroparks, these particular birds are Bohemian Waxwings, and that fact that they are in Ohio at all is a rare event.
They usually live much farther north – as in Alaska and Northwest Canada. But the folks at the Metroparks tell us that the yummy (to them) and numerous crabapple and birch trees at Lake Erie Bluffs. They may just stick around for a while, since the eating is so good!
A nice reminder of the wonderful outdoor wonders we can find at our Lake Metroparks.
