GEAUGA COUNTY - The Atlanta Humane Society delivered 27 dogs and puppies to Geauga Humane Society's Rescue Village Tuesday afternoon.

Now those dogs and puppies are undergoing medical and behavioral assessments to determine when they can be adopted!

The puppies will be placed up for adoption over the next few weeks, but not all at once.

"Every one of these animals that's adoptable, they're going to need really good homes. And the people who adopt them will always know they not only changed their own lives or these animals' lives, but they've helped the people of Louisiana," Executive Director Hope Brustein told Fox 8 on Tuesday.

Information about adoptions and pictures of the animals will be posted at www.geaugahumane.org.

For those who would like to help but are unable to adopt, Brustein said Rescue Village operates solely on donations.
