CLEVELAND, Ohio — A viewing for the late Sen. George Voinovich will be held today.
The 79-year-old former Cleveland mayor, Ohio governor and U.S. senator, passed away on Sunday at his Collinwood home.
Viewing will be held at the DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home in Willoughby Hills from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be another viewing at Cleveland City Hall Rotunda Thursday, beginning at 2 p.m.

His funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Euclid, with a burial to follow at All Souls Cemetery.
The Republican had delivered public remarks Friday at a 25th Slovenian Independence Day event at Cleveland City Hall. He was a delegate to the Republican National Convention coming to Cleveland next month.
Voinovich spent 12 years in the Senate, leaving in 2011. He previously served two terms as Ohio’s governor and a decade as mayor of Cleveland, which he helped pull out of default.
Voinovich was mayor of Cleveland from 1980-1989. He served as Ohio’s governor from 1991-1998. He also served in US senate for 11 years, from 1999-2011.
