MENTOR, Ohio — A Mentor woman working as a psychic has been accused of convincing several clients that harm would come their way unless they provided her with cash, jewelry — even leased cars.

Gina B. Miller, 40, of Mentor, faces theft charges in the case.

According to police, Miller operated a business called Psychic Reader, 7496 Mentor Ave., in Mentor.

Police found during an investigation that over a period of 20 years, Miller allegedly perpetuated a scam where she told several victims that various types of harm would come to them or their families if they didn’t give her certain forms of payment.

The victims gave Miller cash, jewelry, gift cards and open lines of credit, police say. Several also leased expensive vehicles for her.

To date, Mentor Police Department has discovered hundreds of thousands of dollars in loss to the victims. Police anticipate that amount will increase as more victims are identified.

As part of the investigation, search warrants were executed at Miller’s business and another at her home in Madison. Police say evidence, including $20,000 in cash, was recovered at both locations.

Miller was arraigned in Mentor Municipal Court Thursday. Her bond was set at $150,000. Her next court appearance is set for Sept. 24.

Police say it’s very likely that additional victims exist that have not yet been identified. They say many of the victims may be afraid of Miller, convinced that she has the power to bring harm to them or their families.

Anyone who believes they may be a victim should call police at 440-974-5763.
