Reward increased to track down ‘Early Morning Rapist’

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office has contributed enough money to up the ‘Early Morning Rapist’ reward fund to $10,000.

According to a release from the prosecutor’s office, the rapist is believed to be responsible for at least two sexual assaults in Cleveland and Lakewood.

The contribution from the prosecutor’s office means that up to $10,000 will be available through Crime Stoppers for information that leads to an arrest or indictment in the cases.

The money was obtained through forfeitures in criminal cases.

A woman was attacked and raped in Lakewood around 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 30. A similar sexual assault took place in Cleveland around 5:25 a.m. on Sept. 2.

Anyone with information on either attack are asked to call Crime Stoppers 24-hour hotline at 216-252-7463, leave a web tip through www.25crime.com or by texting TIP657 plus their message to CRIMES (274637). All tips are made anonymously.
