Inauguration Day Planning Underway

Planning for the 2013 presidential inauguration is officially underway, with the celebration kicking off January 21st, according to the Huffington Post.

Construction of the inaugural platform officially began October 30th.

Ceremonies are being pushed back a day as Inauguration Day falls on a Sunday in 2013. Along with President Obama’s swearing-in and inaugural address, festivities will also include a parade, 11 official ball and dozens of unofficial balls and parties.

Ticket distribution is handled by senators and representatives in each state. A limited number of tickets will become available in January.

The last time an inauguration was held on January 21st for President Ronald Reagan’s swearing-in in 1985.
