Pregnant Woman Facing Heroin-Related Charge

WAKEMAN, Ohio – A traffic stop in Mentor led to the arrest of a pregnant woman on a charge of aggravated drug possession.

According to officials at the Norwalk Municipal Court, Katie E. Hall, 20, of Fairport Harbor, remains in the custody of authorities at the Huron County jail following her arrest in late February.

An arrest report provided to Fox 8 News by Wakeman Police details Hall’s arrest on an outstanding warrant.

Hall was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by Mentor Police on Februay 21, 2012.

Officers in that city ran Hall’s record to find she was wanted by authorities in Wakeman for an offense as a juvenile.

According to the report, officers found numerous items commonly used in the shooting of heroin inside the vehicle that Hall was traveling.

During questioning Hall admitted to officers that she had used heroin two to three weeks prior to her arrest. Hall also told the officers that she had just entered into her fifth month of pregnancy.

Hall is due in Norwalk Municipal Court on the charge on June 28th at 11:15 a.m.
