AKRON, Ohio — Two teenage girls shot in the head early Sunday morning, have been identified.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed on Monday that Anna Karam, 16, was pregnant. She died following the shooting.

The other, 19-year-old Jessica Halman, is in the hospital recovering. Her condition is unknown.

David Stoddard, 24, of Barberton, is facing charges of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder and felonious assault.

Akron police are still unsure as to what led Stoddard to the home in the 200 block of East Archwood Avenue early Sunday morning.

They say he walked into the house through a sliding back door in the middle of the night and opened fire. Several people, including the two teens, were inside.

After the shootings, Stoddard allegedly took off to the Legacy Inn in Wadsworth. Police arrested him a few hours later and booked him into the Summit County Jail.

Akron police tell FOX 8 the suspect and victims did know each other.

Meanwhile, according to Summit County court documents, Stoddard recently made bail after a carrying concealed weapons charge, and was actually already scheduled to appear in court on January 8th.
