Fox 8′s Stefani Schaefer gave us an update on her husband Roger Sunday evening.
She says there have been some tough days lately, but the family is pressing on.
Roger has been recovering from an April accident during which he fell 12 feet off of scaffolding and suffered severe head trauma.
Here’s Stefani’s entire post on her Facebook fan page:
“Very busy weekend.. so much running with the kids and their activities! I know you can all relate! Never enough time in the day. Not much new to report with Roger…. we’ve kind of hit a plateau. We had some very difficult moments in the last few days and it seems to me and some other family members that he is recognizing us less and less. I can’t understand that – as we just felt that we would be moving forward with that… but it seems to be worse and even more heartbreaking. The kids are really taking it tough. We all are. Even after explaining to him who we are, he doesn’t seem to understand. For some reason, I felt this weekend, for the very first time in almost 8 months that we need to keep living… and we must keep going. I felt like I haven’t lived a moment since April 27. Everything just stopped for us. So, we press on. We have to. On Friday, I took the kids to see Mr. Kringle at Tower City’s Inventionasium and it was truly MAGICAL. It was such a nice break from reality for us. This is the 6th year – and if you haven’t been there with your kiddos or grandchildren – I highly recommend it. It’s such a treat to be downtown and see all the beautiful lights. I don’t know about you… but this year, it seems like I have seen more Christmas decorations up than ever before. It’s wonderful to see everyone in the SPIRIT of the season. So, is it me, or have you noticed more lights up this year too? Did you put up your tree yet?”
