In today's Portrait in Black History we recognize a woman who has made her mark on the literary world. Toni Morrison was born Chloe Anthony Wofford.

The Lorain native won a Pulitzer Prize for fiction writing in 1988 and a Nobel Prize for literature in 1993.

Morrison is best known for novels like 'The Bluest Eye' and 'Beloved' which Oprah Winfrey later turned into a movie.
