Body Found in Submerged Car Identified

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio — Police say the body found in a submerged car Sunday morning appears to be that of a missing Bay Village resident.

The incident was reported around 8:30 a.m. off of Lake and Cahoon roads near the Bay Boat Club.

According to Bay Village police, officials and safety crews recovered the vehicle from below the cliffs at the east end of Cahoon Park where it appeared the car entered the water.

Police say the vehicle and the deceased male found inside match the description of a Bay Village resident reported missing Saturday night.

The decedent was identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office Monday as Andrejs Kisis, 74.

The incident is under investigation but no criminal activity is suspected.
