CLEVELAND – A Cleveland man is charged with abducting and raping a 16-year-old mentally challenged girl, who was found by police after being held captive in an abandoned home for three days.

Antonio Davis, 30, of Cleveland is charged with rape and kidnapping and sits in the Cuyahoga County Jail.

Her mother spoke with FOX 8, but we are not using her name because of the nature of the crime.

According to the police report, on January 16, the girl was walking on Lorain Avenue when she was taken.

"He jumped out of the car grabbed her by the neck. Threw her in the car and took her to the abandoned house," the girl’s mother said.

The girl told police he forced her into the attic of the abandoned home on west 94th street, where he kept her prisoner, blocking the door so she could not escape.

But on the third day of captivity, Davis left a jacket, and a cell phone behind, the girl’s mother said.

The girl called her mother for help, who in turn, called 911.

The girl had no idea where she was, however, she could see an address on the home across the street.

According to the police report, the girl stayed on the phone as police drove up and downs streets in the west side neighborhood until the girl saw one of the patrol cars driving by.

"There was about eight policemen and they had their guns drawn," said James Ready, who saw the rescue.

"I looked up and I seen, I think it was a young girl in the window," Ready said.

The girl was taken to the hospital, and police picked up Davis, and charged him with kidnapping and rape.

According to the police report, Davis reportedly told the girl he was going to take her out of town that night so no one could find her.

The mother said Davis was a family friend.

But she fears he may have preyed on other girls. "She couldn't be the only one out there. In my heart I don't believe it and if there is another child out there, I pray to God, please come forward and say something," the girl’s mother said.
