NORTH RIDGEVILLE — Police have arrested a 39-year-old man accused of trying to hire a person to commit a murder.
Seljami Idrizi, of Grafton, was arrested Thursday and was arraigned Friday in Elyria on a charge of conspiracy to commit aggravated murder. He was issued $1 million bond and must surrender passports before he can get out of jail.
Police say an investigation revealed that Idrizi solicited someone to have a 43-year-old North Ridgeville man murdered.
The defendant’s plot unraveled when the person he allegedly hired notified police.
Officers then had a local make-up artist help them “stage” a murder to make it appear the victim had been shot. A picture was taken and showed to Idrizi.
Idrizi is then alleged to have paid the hit man after viewing the picture.
Police were able to make the arrest before anyone was hurt.
