ELYRIA, Ohio — Two women face charges after police seized drugs and cash from their vehicle during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike.
According to reports, police stopped a 2007 Chevrolet Impala for a marked lanes violation near mile post 135 in Lorain County around 4:17 p.m. March 21.
Upon approaching the vehicle, troopers observed the passenger attempting to conceal contraband, according to reports. Police then found marijuana and crack cocaine valued at $3,000.
The driver, Kari L. Edgell, 24, and passenger, Samantha L. Paulus, 27, both of Wooster, face charges of possession of crack cocaine, trafficking in drugs, complicity, tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana.
If convicted, each could face up to 29 years in prison and up to a $55,000 fine.
