RICHMOND HEIGHTS, OH -- Police are searching for two brazen men who robbed a bank, shooting a gun as soon as they got inside.

No one was injured.

At least one of the robbers was seen on surveillance cameras.

Even a hoodie and bandanna could not totally conceal the face of one of two men who stormed into the Huntington Bank on Wilson Mills Road in Richmond Heights around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

"Two males went into the bank, one held the door, the other one went in with a gun, fired the gun off, then asked for all the loose cash and then they ran out of the bank under 40 seconds," said Sgt. Rick Olexa.

"We heard a loud pop and just wondered what was happening, so then we see all the police cars," said business owner Kim Peters.

Peters owns a shipping store next door to the bank.

"The Huntington Bank is our bank. I mean, we've been here for 16 years and I was there this morning doing a deposit. We're usually there several times a day," he said.

Richmond Heights police say there were three or four tellers in the bank at the time, as well as a manager.  They say there were no customers inside.

Police say the robber in red fired his gun as soon as he got inside.

"For our city, it's rare to have a shot fired. It was like, a show of force maybe, not to be messed with, give us the cash right away so we can go," said Sgt. Olexa.

The FBI says both men ran east on Wilson Mills Road.

Regular customers were stunned to learn why their bank was closed.

"I come every day, every day. Nice, nice bank. It's good service over here," said bank customer Seodd Sangh.

"It is just really sad that it has come to this moment, that people are just that desperate and I actually was running a little late today, I was trying to get here earlier. So yea, it's scary," said customer Terry Bandy.

If anyone has information about the robbery, they are asked to call Richmond Heights police at (216) 486-1234 or the Cleveland FBI office at (216) 522-1400.
