Police search for driver who hit pedestrian, fled from scene

WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio — Police are looking for the driver involved in a hit-skip that hurt a pedestrian in Willoughby Hills Monday morning.

According to police, it happened at just before 9 a.m. on Chardon Road near Christine Drive.

Witnesses said a small black car was traveling east on Chardon Road and hit a male who was walking with traffic. The car left the scene without stopping, police said, and may have damage to the right or passenger area.

The victim is a middle-aged white man with unknown injuries. He was taken to a local hospital.

Officers were patrolling the area looking for the suspect’s car.
