SOLON, Ohio — A woman faces a slew of charges after police in Solon arrested her for allegedly driving drunk with her toddler in the car.
Solon police were called to Harper Road just after 7:30 Monday night for a report of an impaired driver weaving across the road.
That’s where an officer pulled over Arlene A. Fields, 42, of Maple Heights.
According to a police report, the officer saw Fields’ 2-year-old daughter climbing around the back seat, unrestrained. Fields reportedly smelled of alcohol and had red, glassy eyes.
After failing a number of sobriety tests, Fields blew a .193 on a breathalyzer test — more than twice the legal limit of .08, police said.
She was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OVI), endangering children, and failing to have her child in a safety seat.
In addition, Fields had an active warrant for her arrest from Maple Heights police for making a false report.
She’ll appear in court to face the charges on October 19.
Fields’ daughter was released into the custody of another family member.
