RICHFIELD, Ohio — Police in Richfield are looking for a suspect accused of trying to abduct a boy from a residential complex earlier this week.
On Wednesday, they released a sketch of what the suspect might look like.
It happened on Friday, June 7, at around noon, near Glencairn Forest and The Woods.
The boy told police he was approached by a man driving a small, grey, four-door car, with dark-tinted windows.
The driver was described as a man between 40-50 years old, salt and pepper hair (but not balding), unshaven (but no mustache or beard), with a scar on his right cheek. He may also have brown eyes and be physically fit. The man was wearing a black short-sleeved T-shirt and black or dark-colored jeans with white tennis shoes.
The driver allegedly stopped his car in front of the boy, blocking his path. He got out and asked if the boy wanted a ride. When the boy declined and kept walking, the man reportedly grabbed the boy and tried to drag him into his car.
The two struggled and the suspect threw the boy’s phone into the grass.
The boy eventually broke free and ran home.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Richfield Police Department.
