NILES, Ohio-- A woman from Columbus was charged with disorderly conduct after what police said happened at the Red Lobster restaurant in Niles on Saturday.

Police said they received several calls about an intoxicated customer who was acting belligerent with an infant inside the restaurant.

When she tried to get into her car with the baby, both employees and other customers called 911 and also blocked her from getting into the car.

According to a post on the Niles Police Department Facebook page, at one point, the woman, identified as Carleigh Dawson, 25, reportedly swung the baby carrier with her nine-month-old daughter inside, dropping it on the ground.

Niles police arrested Dawson. They said once inside the cruiser, she kicked the door and divider several times.

The baby was taken to an area hospital to be checked out; she was not injured.

Police reports state that Dawson drank two Long Island Iced Teas at the restaurant.
