Police: 1 dead after Painesville shooting

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – Police are investigating after a Fourth of July shooting leaves one person dead.

According to Lt. Dan Waterman with the Painesville Police Department, officers responded to a call of a man shot in the 900 block of Hine Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

A 32-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound and was taken to Tri Point Medical Center for treatment. He later died from his injuries.

Police have not released the identity of the victim.
