Police: 1 Dead After Car Crashes Into Dollar Store

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Police are investigating a fatal car crash that claimed the life of a 27-year-old woman.

According to police, the woman was a passenger in a car carrying five people. The car was speeding down Broadway Street around 11:00 p.m. Saturday when the driver lost control and crashed into a Family Dollar Store.

Four of the passengers were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment. The 27-year-old woman died at the hospital. The driver, 34-year-old James Cook, was treated and expected to be released.

Police said alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.

Cook will be arrested for aggravated vehicular assault after being released from the hospital.
