Social media will be the first order of business when the state Board of Education meets today in Columbus.

At issue is a Facebook post from State Board of Education President Debe Terhar.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, she posted a photograph of Adolf Hitler with a message critical of the Obama administration’s new gun-control efforts.

Terhar’s Facebook page is only visible to her friends.

Terhar, who is a republican, defended her remarks. “I’m not comparing the president to Adolf Hitler,” she said. “It’s the thought of disarming citizens, and this has happened throughout history. What’s the true intention of the Second Amendment? It was to protect us from a tyrannical government, God forbid.”

Democrats are calling for Terhar’s resignation.
