CLEVELAND – At the corner of Prospect Avenue and Bolivar Road, stands one of downtown Cleveland’s most historic sites.

“Grays Armory will be our hospitality center, Republican Party Central,” said Julie Kirk, Executive Director of the Cuyahoga County GOP.

Grays Armory is over 150 years old, but it will be the place to party during the RNC.

“All of our evenings start with a watch party, we’ll be watching what happens in The Q with the same energy and excitement,” said Kirk.

There will be speakers and musical entertainment each night, as well as post session parties.

“Monday night we have Jim Brickman. Tuesday we have singers from American Idol and The Voice, including Candace Glover, who was the winner of season 12,” said Kirk.

Wednesday is Ohio night, where the Ohio delegation will be in the house.

“We have Marshall Tucker, along with State Auditor Dave Yost and his band,” said Kirk.

Thursday night, the CCGOP is promising a huge party with a huge musical act.

They aren’t saying who it is, other than a nationally-known country music act.

Thanks to the rent the county GOP is paying to play there, this historic building is getting a major upgrade.

“They’ll have air conditioning, some upgraded things that will stay long term,” said Kirk.

The parties are invitation-only.
