CLEVELAND, Ohio — Art is helping transform some homes in Cleveland.

Nearly 30 artists and architects unveiled a new type of canvas Saturday in Slavic Village: vacant homes.

The three homes on Forman and Fleet avenues were the focus of a free day-long neighborhood block party and street tour.

The project was called “Rooms to Let.” Several artists from not just Cleveland, but as far away as California and New York participated in transforming the homes.

Organizers said the event helped give residents a look at one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods in a new light — transforming blight and disrepair into works of art.

Saturday’s event included live music, food trucks and interactive art.
