NOVELTY, Ohio– The Russell Township Fire Department said three people and 12 dogs were rescued from floods at the Copaw Cabana Kennel in Novelty on Tuesday.

The Hillcrest Technical Rescue Team assisted fire crews. The staff and pups were taken by boat to dry land where the owners of the dogs were called and the animals were picked up.

Tuesday’s storms caused flooding problems and damage in other parts of Geauga County, as well. A flood advisory remains in effect for the southern part of the county.
