PARMA HEIGHTS - Papa John's regional manager said one man came into his Parma Heights store with a gun and demanded money early Thursday afternoon.
According to the manager, his employees cooperated with the man and gave him money. Once he left the store, they called police immediately.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Sources say that once police arrived, a chase began shortly after and went onto I-480 east. The chase ended with a crash near State Road.
The freeway closed around 1:45 p.m. and reopened around 5:30 p.m.
In a press conference held by Parma Heights police on Thursday, officials said that the suspect's vehicle was scene on Pearl Road shortly after the Papa John's employees called 911.
Once they chased him onto I-480, he crashed his car and exited holding a firearm. He was then shot by police and died on the scene.
