DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Two alligators were spotted earlier this month in Northwest Ohio.

According to the Ohio Department of Agriculture, the reptiles were found in Auglaize County

The alligators were initially reported on May 7 in St. Marys River. Officials with the Ohio Department of Agriculture attempted to capture the two alligators several times without success.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture says an Ohio Division of Wildlife officer shot and killed one alligator.

The one remaining alligator has not been seen since, according to officials.
