OSU Students Killed in Spring Break Crash

EBRO, Florida — Two Ohio State University students are dead after a crash while driving home from spring break in Florida.

The Northwest Florida Daily News is reporting that Brittney S. Gallagher, 21, of Willoughby and Courtney L. Miller, 21, of Niles, were killed along State Route 20 near Panama City.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Gallagher lost control of the vehicle and was struck by a pickup truck.

Gallagher and Miller were pronounced dead on the scene. Both were wearing a seat belt.

Two other passengers, Diana N. Mitchell, 22, of Solon, and Lauren E. Kane, 22, of Willoughby were taken to Bay Medical Center. They are in stable condition.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Ohio State University President E. Gordon Gee sent out a tweet regarding the crash:

“So very saddened to learn of tragic car accident in Florida. My thoughts and prayers are with friends and loved ones of all those involved.”
