CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio– The FOX 8 I-Team has learned that law enforcement is looking at the Concord Twp. shooting suspect for other crimes including an alleged attempted rape that happened earlier Monday.

Authorities arrested the suspect after two shootings in Lake County Monday afternoon.

A woman was shot in the Greenway Corridor of the Lake Metroparks, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said. The mother was with her two children on the walking and biking path at about 3 p.m. when she heard five shots. The woman yelled, “Don’t shoot, I’m with my children.”

Deputies said another shot was fired and the victim was hit in the arm. She called 911 and was taken to TriPoint Medical Center.

While investigating the shooting, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office learned a woman was found dead in a house on nearby Ravenna Road. Authorities said they believe the suspect was running from the homicide when he encountered the mother in the park.

The Painesville Police Department, the FBI and Ohio Bureau of Criminal of Investigation also responded to the scene.
