One killed in two-car crash in Grafton Township

GRAFTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- One person died in a two-car crash in Grafton Township overnight.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, it happened at around 1:20 a.m. on state Route 303 at Mennell Road.

A 2010 Toyota Corolla was heading eastbound on state Route 303 at the time.

A 2005 Volkswagen Passat was heading north on Mennell Road. The Volkswagen failed to stop at a stop sign, entered into the intersection and was hit by the Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota, a 28-year-old Dayton woman, was taken to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. Her passenger, a 31-year-old Medina woman, was also taken to the hospital, but with incapacitating injuries.

The driver of the Volkswagen, Heder Abreo, 34, of Valley City, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol or drug use is unknown, and the crash remains under investigation.
