STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- A 16-year-old girl was killed, and three other people were sent to the hospital after a one-car crash Wednesday night.

Kailee Mayher, 16, of Strongsville was killed when the crash happened just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at 22659 Albion Road.

Police said the vehicle, which was carrying a total of six teens, went off the roadway and struck a tree.

Sydney Rosenthal, 16, was driving the vehicle and was not hurt. Morgan Dabran, 16, was in the front passenger seat and was also not hurt.

Katie Carroll, 16, and Sarah Attar, 15, were in the rear seat and were taken to Southwest General Hospital. Alyssa Collins, 15, was in the rear seat and was taken to Metro General Hospital.

Strongsville City Schools Superintendent Cameron Ryba said in a statement that counseling would be available for students Thursday and urged parents to pay close attention to their children's behaviors during the difficult time:

"As many of you may already know, on June 7th multiple Strongsville High School students were involved in a motor vehicle accident. Kailee Mayher, a sophomore, died tragically as a result of injuries sustained in this accident. A young person’s death is always tragic and a loss like this can have a profound effect on students. It is important that we recognize this loss and offer help. We suggest that you talk to your children about their feelings associated with this news and observe their reaction over the next several weeks."
