CLEVELAND – One woman is dead after she and a companion were shot on Cleveland’s east side Saturday evening.
A 36-year-old male victim told police that he and the 29-year-old female were unlocking the door to his East 149th Street home at around 9 p.m. when they were fired upon. The man was taken to Euclid Hospital by a neighbor. He was transferred to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was only able to give the police minimum information because of his injuries.
The female ran from the scene to a location on East 148th Street. When police found her, they administered first aid before she was taken to University Hospitals. She died from the gunshot wounds there.
Police tell Fox 8 that a person of interest in this case was located in Independence with the help of the FBI and taken into custody. He is currently being interviewed by investigators.
