Olive Garden giving comedian $6,000 apology after he’s asked to leave restaurant

PARMA, Ohio — Local comedian Ricky Smith is getting a high-priced apology from Olive Garden after an alleged incident with a server.

Smith, the founder of Random Acts of Kindness Everywheretold TMZ that Olive Garden gave him a $1,000 gift card and a $5,000 donation to his charity.

Smith originally posted about the entire ordeal on Twitter Tuesday night.

According to Smith, his waitress said she didn’t like serving black people. She was also black. So Smith said he asked the store manager for a new waitress. The manager said he and his group could either keep that waitress or leave.

The police were eventually called to help with the situation.

After the incident, Olive Garden issued an apology to Smith. And Smith Tweeted that he got a call from the chain’s vice president of operations with another apology and the offer.
