Ohio’s first sales tax holiday underway

CLEVELAND- Ohio’s sales tax holiday started at midnight on Friday and many parents are taking advantage of the deals before the school year starts.

Clothing priced at $75 or less, school supplies priced at $20 or less and school instructional material priced at $20 or less is exempt for sales and use taxes. It ends at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

Senate Bill 243 established the one-time, tax-free weekend in Ohio. Retailers are required by law to participate.
