PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, OH – Two people on a motorcycle died after they were hit by a pickup truck early this morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol in Ashtabula tells Fox 8 that driver that Joseph Lorelli, 52, of Ashtabula, and his passenger, Tracy Chapman, 51, also of Ashtabula, died at the scene when their Honda motorcycle was struck from behind by a Ford F-150.  They were both ejected from the motorcycle. The vehicles were traveling north on State Road near Garrison Road.

The driver of the pickup, 28-year-old Chad Campbell of Ashtabula, fled the scene after his vehicle rolled over. He was arrested later.

Police report that alcohol was a factor in this accident, but did not specify how.

Lorelli and Chapman were wearing helmets when their motorcycle was hit and Campbell was wearing a seatbelt. The crash itself is still under investigation.
