RICHFIELD, Ohio (WJW) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol said a 21-year-old woman from Medina was killed in a 16-vehicle crash on the turnpike Tuesday. The crash happened at 8:44 a.m. on I-80 at mile post 172. The highway patrol said the woman, who was driving one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene. Some of the other people in the crash suffered minor injuries and several were taken to local hospitals. All of the vehicles involved were traveling westbound on the Ohio Turnpike through a single-lane construction zone. There was low visibility from heavy snow. A FOX 8 viewer said there was a squall right before and after the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
