COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio State Fair has a new rule this year.
Fair general manager Virgil L. Strickler instructed vendors in a letter on Thursday that the sale or display of Confederate flags is prohibited.
“Any vendors found to be selling any items featuring the image of the confederate flag will be asked to promptly remove those items,” Strickler said in the letter.
Earlier this month, the Confederate flag was removed from the grounds of the South Carolina capitol.
The Ohio State Fair runs July 29 to Aug. 9 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus.
