CINCINNATI (AP) — A 22-year-old southwest Ohio mother is in custody after police say she assaulted her 4-week-old son because he was making it difficult for her to sleep.
Authorities say Peek Gaddis was arraigned Thursday on a felonious assault charge in Hamilton County Court.
Police say the Colerain Township woman told them she punched her son several times on May 10. The infant suffered a fractured skull and brain bleed, and his condition isn’t known.
Gaddis’ attorney says her infant son and two other children have been placed in foster care.
Gaddis is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on $15,000 bond. Her case is expected to go before a grand jury June 22.
