WAYNE COUNTY – Joey Leininger, 13, is battling a very rare form of liver cancer.

In the Wanye County Sheriff’s Daily Update, Joey told Captain Doug Hunter that less than 200 people each year are diagnosed with fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma.

It is normally treatable with surgery, but in Joey’s current condition, surgery is not an option.

He is taking chemotherapy pills and undergoing treatment to hopefully stop the growth of the tumor he has.

On the top of his bucket list, Joey would love to meet LeBron James and is actually attending a Cavaliers game this upcoming Wednesday.
