COLUMBUS, Ohio— The Ohio Ballot Board has approved wording that voters will see this fall while deciding the fate of marijuana legalization, redistricting changes and restrictions aimed at keeping monopolies or cartels from being added to the state constitution.

The five-member board met Tuesday afternoon to determine the ballot language and adopt explanations and arguments that appear in newspapers ahead of the Nov. 3 election.

The phrasing of the marijuana issue drew most of the discussion, with supporters arguing that some words were misleading.

At the meeting, Secretary of State Jon Husted also announced the lineup of the issues on the ballot. The redistricting proposal will be Issue 1. The so-called anti-monopoly or cartel measure will be known as Issue 2. And the marijuana legalization initiative will appear as Issue 3.
