A woman in New Zealand was taken to the hospital to have her ovaries removed.

Instead, doctors performed a C-section, sending her home with an unexpected 9-pound baby boy.

According to The New Zealand Herald, Rebecca Oldham, 25, had experienced severe abdominal pain and cramping. After repeated tests, including six pregnancy tests, she was admitted to the hospital for surgery.

Doctors found she was 32 weeks pregnant.

Rebecca and her partner had a 20-month-old daughter at the time.  Doctors said her case is very rare, and they’re working to determine how they missed her pregnancy.

They told her that the pain she experienced was likely due to her son, who she named James, being lodged along her back.

Rebecca said she has no idea how she could have missed being pregnant.
