MANSFIELD, Ohio- The Ohio Department of Corrections is investigating after a drone flew over the Mansfield Correctional Institution on Wednesday.
Corrections spokeswoman JoEllen Smith said they are looking into where the drone originated and if it dropped any contraband.
Using drones to transport banned items is common around the country, Smith said, but it’s only happened in Ohio a few times.
