MASSILLON, Ohio - After months of investigation, the cause of a fire at St. Mary's Church in Massillon has been ruled undetermined. The church suffered heat and water damage.

The origin of the fire was on the east wall of the Baptistry and low to the ground. Officials say there is no evidence of any kind of accelerant. The cause is undetermined because accidental causes cannot be ruled out, such as an electrical fire.

While the fire department and the State Fire Marshal investigated the cause and origin, they looked for a woman they say was the last person in the area before the fire. Massillon fire officials emphasized she was not a suspect.

After looking for the woman while they continued to investigate, she was unable to be located to be questioned.
