Officers Hospitalized After Saving Woman from Fire

TWINSBURG, Ohio — Three Macedonia police officers were hospitalized Friday after saving a woman from a burning home.

Police were called to Shepard Road shortly after 3 p.m. and were told a disabled person was trapped inside.

The officers were able to get into the house, find the woman and get her out safely. She was taken to a local hospital, but her condition was not known as of 10 p.m.

All three officers suffered from smoke inhalation. Two of them were treated and released from the hospital.The third officer was taken to Akron General Hospital for observation.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
