BLOOMINGTON, Minnesota (CNN) — They’ve come a long way from the toxic ooze-infested sewers.

Now, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have helped the Mall of America secure a new world record.

Sunday morning, the Mall of America and Nickelodeon Universe attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of Ninja Turtles.

A representative from Guinness confirmed there were 836 ninja turtles there, more than the previous record of 786.

The record-breaking event was held to celebrate the grand opening of the mall’s new ride, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shell Shock.
