The family of a Tennessee woman who was criticized for putting her infant daughter on the train of her wedding gown is coming to the bride’s defense.

Multiple media reports stated Shona Carter-Brooks dragged the baby down the aisle.

But WREG spoke to the bride’s cousin who said the picture was misleading and the baby was merely placed on the dress for a photo and then removed.

On her Facebook page, Carter-Brooks said her 1-month-old daughter was “awake and well-secured.”

While some have criticized the display, the bride has also received support  from those who found the moment to be very moving.
