OBERLIN, OH - Three juveniles were arrested last week after officers in Oberlin found them carrying realistic-looking BB guns in public.

The Oberlin Police Department reports that the three were carrying the weapons and the officers did not know at the time that the guns were not real. It was only after the three were arrested that they found this out.

The officers are being commended for using their training, experience and verbal commands to safely stop the juveniles. The Oberlin Police Department is quoted on their Facebook page as saying, "This was obviously a dangerous situation that could have turned into a tragic incident. They deserve this recognition for a job well done."
