NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio — North Royalton police told FOX 8 that at about 7 p.m., Friday, two officers were serving a probate order on Independence Dr. to take a 45-year-old to St. Vincent Charity Medical Center.

Police say the man did not comply, and pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the officers in the face and the leg.

The second officer shot the suspect. The injured officer was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was taken to a Parma hospital. His condition is not known, but his injuries were thought to be serious, according to police.
