NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio – Schools in North Ridgeville were closed Tuesday due to flooding issues.

The district reports that there is flooding in the high school and middle schools. It says the high water has left them unable to cook food or provide transportation to students.

Several other schools across Northeast Ohio were cancelled because of flooding as well.

The Lorain County Emergency Operations Center helped several North Ridgeville residents evacuate their homes and vehicles Monday night.

Several other closures are located throughout the city. A shelter has been opened at Fields Church on Lorain Road for people displaced from their homes.

Allied Waste will have a crew in North Ridgeville on Saturday, May 17 to pick up bulk items curbside ruined due to flooding.  They can’t guarantee citywide pickup but will do the best they can with the crews they have available.
