PARMA, Ohio– Parma police said a Normandy High School student has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a female student.
Investigators said Raylon Etheridge, 18, was charged with one count of rape, after the 15-year-old girl said that she had been assaulted by Etheridge inside a high school bathroom after school.
The girl told a caregiver, who then told a staff member. The school said the staff member immediately called police.
A statement from the school district said, “As a policy, the Parma City Schools does not comment on ongoing investigations. Please know, however, that we take the allegations very seriously and will fully cooperate with the authorities. The district will also conduct its own investigation and take appropriate measures with the student involved. Our district has resources available to support our students and will provide those as needed. Should any student have a safety concern or need assistance, the district has a confidential 24-hour Hotline in place, that number is 440-842-2220.”
